Seriously, I never knew elastic waistband pants could be such a challenge. Am I doing something wrong or should I just go back to not buttoning my pants?
Today is day 2 of trying those supposedly magical stretchy waistbands, you'd think they'd be a dream come true; you don't have to remember the zipper coming out of the bathroom, after dinner, they give you a little "breathing room. " To my dismay I've been tugging and yanking and showing a little too much waistband all day long. The crotch ends up at my knees and then there's this extra fabric in the front where my "front butt" should be. I don't picture these darn things getting any better the bigger I get. What to do? Am I doomed for elastic pant-wars for the next couple months or is there some secret out there I'm not aware of?

Maternity pants are the worst! I hate them all. The full panel pants at least stay up, but towards the end they start to cut your stomache in half. I have a friend that just had a baby who would just by some bigger sized non-maternity pants, and she looked so cute her whole pregnancy. I think I would do that next time around! Good luck! I bet your such a cute little pregnant lady!
Ha Ha Ha...sorry to laugh but, Ha Ha Ha =o) I have no advice for you. Maybe when it's my turn to wear them you can give me some pointers since you will hopefully have these pants mastered by then.
Please post a picture of you! I want to see your cute belly...PLEASE =o)
If those are Old Navy brand, that's what they would do on me too. I just don't think they're the right fit....for pretty much anyone. I used to go down to the University Mall in Orem, to the Gap Maternity section. Their stuff fits SO much better! Good luck! :)
They are the worst - for me I was constantly pulling them up. So I think it might be the style of pant. So try on different kinds. But sorry because they do bite!
Okay, tell me you have a bella band? It is this neat little contraption made just for this sort of thing. Remember units? Yeah, think unit belts, only thicker and longer. It's just basically a stretchy piece of fabric that you can wear over your old unbuttoned jeans (keeps them tight), that then extends the life of your jeans. And you can pull them up as high as you like. Thanks to the bella band I used my favorite jeans almost into my third trimester.
It's been a while since I was prego but I heard they also have some jeans at motherhood maternity or mimi maternity where the elastic band is super stretchy and long and actually pulls up over your belly, as opposed to under it. Supposedly it makes for a much more comfy fitting pant. Although I've never tried them myself, so I can't say for sure.
Anyways, hope this helps!
i totally sagged those crazy pants with oshyn and then with cruz i just wore my bigger jeans (low rise for under your belly) or stretchy jeans just bigger sizes as long as possible. long shirts are key too--i really loved a Shade clothing undershirt....SUPER DUPER long. good luck--i wanna see pictures!!
I'm with the bella band Jill. That is your only hope.
I know what you mean becuase we have similar athletic body types that are bigger or smaller in the opposite areas as the traditional prego lady--I had to go with a lot of drawstring pants vs the banded ones. I also wore lots of extremely long tank tops to cover my garment covered butt crack that was so easily exposed atop the band of those stupid pants... I never tried the bella becuase it was $$$$ and I'm too cheap. Good luck. You look so good! I found a lot of cute drawstring mommy pants at Ross (if you can handle that store).
I can't really offer any advice on the subject, but thought I would leave a comment anyways to let you know I had been here. It's like writing Jaron was here '08 on a rock at the top of a mountain, cause that's about how often I "blog". But it was nice seeing you both.
P.s. Eddy thanks for that one night when you shared your ipod music with me, namely Devendra Banhart. He has become a family fave.
p.p.s Come to seattle sometime.
